Overview
The Schauer Charge Master JAC0224-C is a 24v 2-amp automatic battery charger with alligator clips. The JAC0224-C (0891-34) is a 3-stage smart charger that charges sealed lead acid, AGM, gel, or flooded batteries.
The JAC0224-C features many built-in protections, such as short circuit, over-voltage, and over-current protections. It also features a universal input with a voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC.
The Schauer JAC0212-C Features Multi Stage charging:
Stage 1: Constant Current Mode (CC)
The charger changes to a constant current of 2 amps. When the battery voltage reaches 28.8 V, the charging stage changes from (CC) Constant Current to CV (Constant Voltage) mode.
Stage 2: Constant Voltage Mode (CV)
The charger holds the battery at 28.8 V, and the current slowly reduces. When the current reaches 0.5 C (C= Battery Capacity), this point is called the Switching Point. The Switching Point is one of the great features of this battery charger, as it can adjust the current automatically according to the battery capacity. Other chargers without microprocessors are not capable of adjusting the current automatically.
Stage 3: Standby Voltage Mode
The charger maintains the battery voltage at 27.6 V, and the current slowly reduces to zero. The charger can be left connected indefinitely without harming the battery.
Recharging:
If the battery voltage drops below 27.6V, the charger changes from any mode to Constant Current mode and restarts charging. The charging cycle will go through Stage 1 to Stage 3.
This charger typically ships with alligator clips, allowing customers to adapt it to their needs. Also, the AC cord is detachable, so customers may use power cords from foreign countries.
