Overview
The NOCO Genius GEN5X3 is a 3-bank 15-Amp marine battery charger and maintainer. Each bank of the NOCO GEN5X3 outputs 12v 5 amps per bank. The charger features an IP68 waterproof rating making it ideal for harsh locations.
The GEN5X3 is compatible with 12v lead acid batteries included flooded wet cell, enhanced flooded, maintenance free, AGM and Gel cell batteries. The charger also features a 12v Lithium Mode suitable for Lithium-Ion LiFePo4 Batteries that include a Battery Management System (BMS).
The GEN5X3 lithium boat battery charger features an automatic 12v Repair Mode that equalizes sulfated, idle, or stratified batteries in efforts to repair lost battery performance. This Repair Mode is automatic but can also be manually selected.
The Genius GEN5X3 features a Force Mode meant to recover extremely discharged batteries below 1v. This mode must be manually selected and will force the charger to output for 5 min in an attempt to recover the battery. After 5 minutes the charger will switch back to the standard charging profile.
Each bank outputs 12 volts meant for individual 12v batteries no larger than a group 31 battery (approximately 120 AH). The GEN5X3 can be used for three 12v banks, one 24v battery bank, or one 36v battery bank. Typical installation is for 24-volt series system using two 12v batteries for a trolling motor and an additional bank for a starting 12v battery. Another popular installation is for a 12-volt trolling motor battery and two 12v starting motor batteries.
