Overview
The NOCO Genius GEN5X2 is a 2-bank 10-Amp smart battery charger and maintainer. Each bank on the NOCO GEN5X2 ouputs 12v 5 amps per bank. The charger features an IP68 waterproof rating making it ideal for harsh locations.
The GEN5X2 is compatible with 12v lead acid batteries included flooded wet cell, enhanced flooded, maintenance free, AGM and Gel cell batteries. The marine battery charger also features a 12v Lithium Mode suitable for Lithium-Ion LiFePo4 Batteries that include a Battery Management System (BMS).
The GEN5X2 features an automatic 12v Repair Mode that equalizes sulfated, idle, or stratified batteries in efforts to repair lost battery performance. This Repair Mode is automatic but can also be manually selected.
The Genius GEN5X2 lithium boat battery charger features a Force Mode meant to recover extremely discharged batteries below 1v. This mode must be manually selected and will force the charger to output for 5 min in an attempt to recover the battery. After 5 minutes the charger will switch back to the standard charging profile.
Each bank outputs 12 volts meant for individual 12v batteries no larger than a group 31 battery (approximately 120 AH). The GEN5X2 can be used for two 12v banks, or one 24v battery bank using 12v batteries. Typical installation is for two 12-volt system such as using one 12v battery for a trolling motor and another 12-volt battery for the gas powered engine. Another popular installation is for a 24-volt series system using two 12v batteries for a 24v trolling motor.
