Lithium Batteries are only charged to 30% of capacity per shipping regulations. When you receive the battery, it needs to be charged before use. We recommend the OptiMATE Lithium TM-471.
Overview
The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is the ultimate in weight versus power technology. This battery weighs in at only 2.12 pounds and offers an incredible 270 C.C.A. This is a drop in replacement for your Lead-acid battery, and will require no change to your stock charging system.
Shorai LFX batteries contain Shorai-proprietary eXtreme-Rate Lithium Iron prismatic cells (chemistry LiFePO4). They contain no poisonous lead, no acid, and do not create gasses during charge, as traditional Lead-Acid batteries do. Compared to lead-acid, Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are also extremely light, have much lower self-discharge, do not sulfate, and are environmentally friendly.
When it comes to Powersports applications and lithium batteries, BatteryStuff.com recommends that you use the best, most powerful version that will properly fit your application. Shorai may list several battery sizes in their application chart that will fit your bike, but in our opinion the small gains in weight are typically offset by the superior starting power offered in the upgraded versions. Should you not require the most powerful version, see the LFX14L2-BS12 for the less potent lithium alternative for this battery. It will be the exact same dimensions and terminal location as our recommended battery, but with a bit less capacity.
Lead acid batteries have long been a target with riders who want to take weight off of their motorcycle. With our Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, it is now possible to do away with the heavier lead acid battery, while maintaining reliable starting power. These are true drop in replacement batteries that will require no charging system modifications, and only weigh a fraction of the OEM battery.
*BatteryStuff understands the importance of getting a replacement battery right away and usually ships all batteries the same day as ordered if received before 1:30pm (Pacific).
We recommend using these batteries in temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius. This battery may require spacers to make it work in your application. Included with this battery are foam spacers that will aid in fitting this battery.
** PbEq equals Lead-Acid Equivalent. This means that a 12 AH PbEq Lithium Iron Phosphate battery will perform the same as a 12 amp hour Lead-acid battery.

Shorai Lithium 18 AH 12 Volt Battery
If the battery lasts as advertised, I will buy again.
Saves 10 lbs, is smaller and more powerful than AGM batteries I've used in the past. So far I am very happy.
Cons:
Price, I would prefer to get it for free!!!!

Awesome Battery
I have had problems keeping my lead/acid battery charged with enough to start my bike. I have often had to find a hill or get a push to compression start. With this battery I don't have to do that anymore. I am very happy about that!
Battery is SO much lighter, and is smaller, and it produces much more in cranking amps. My VMAX starts right up now. I love it! I highly recommend going to Li for better performance.
Cons:
Had to put foam cushioning padding all around the battery because it is so much smaller, but it is provided with the battery and is not that big of a deal.

Time will tell
Installing this new battery was relatively easy, though we put together a wood 'U' shape spacer lined inside and outside with the foam to snug up the battery. It fit good. This battery is replacing the lead acid batteries that normally go nine years, so in ten years we should know if this is a better battery. The bike was used only once and this battery had no problem cranking it up. Thanks for allowing us an opportunity to test something new.
Cons:
We miss having to deal with the acid. Other than the cost we really have nothing negative yet. Maybe with a larger volume of sales the price might be more competitive.

As advertised
The battery came as advertised. I had no difficulty in installing. Size and weight are amazing. I haven't had a situation yet where I have tested the longevity or starting power but when I got it installed, the motorcycle started right up.
Cons:
Using the foam pads to build a box around the smaller size battery was a bit of a challenge but worked as promised.

Shorai Battery
I received the battery from BatteryStuff a couple of days after ordering it.
It was incredibly small and light. The included adhesive backed foam was a nice touch and made it very easy to install the battery. I did say it was incredibly small, right?
It fit easily and installation was a breeze. Seems to have tons of starting power. If it lasts as long as it is supposed to I will be very happy.
Cons:
none so far

★☆☆☆☆
Died after second day
It will may work good to carry camping and charge my cell phone.
***Note from Batterystuff.com***
These batteries are starting Power Sport Batteries only, and are not recommend for deep cycle applications. Deep cycling the battery can damage the lithium, as there are no low voltage cutoffs to prevent the battery from being excessively discharged. The PBEq rating is an equivalent of what they are meant to replace in a starting application, however their actual AH rating is only 1/3 of that rating.
This is a great backup battery it is light weight and easy to carry.
Cons:
I used it for two days with a one hour drive each way on my bike with my jacket and gloves warmer connected, the second day it was dead so I removed the battery and I went back to the stock battery with no problems.
