When to Charge EZ GO Golf Cart Batteries?
At BatteryStuff.com, we recommend keeping your EZ GO golf cart batteries charged, topped off, and ready to go! You will need an EZGO smart charger or maintainer designed to float and maintain the battery pack.
Our EZGO golf cart battery chargers will charge and maintain the battery pack after charge. Each charger has a float mode and has built in protections to prevent overcharging.
How do I know what EZ GO charger I need?
An EZ GO golf cart charger needs to match the battery pack's voltage. A 36v battery pack will need a 36v charger, and a 48v battery pack will need a 48v charger.
When selecting the amp rating, we recommend choosing a charger that is close to 10% of the battery pack's AH rating. Most golf carts have a 200-230 AH battery pack, so ideally in a 36v charger, a 20 or 25-amp unit is ideal.
For those looking for a 48v charger, you might notice that the charger's amp ratings typically range around 15-18 amps. This is because most household plugs are NEMA 15 amp plugs and will only support up to an 18 amp unit. We recommend the 15 amp units for those that only use their golf cart occasionally, and the 18 amp for the high-end user.
